That took long enough.

The God of War: Chains of Olympus Special Edition: Battle of Attica demo disc (also lovingly abbreviated as GOW: COO –SE:BoADD) is going to make its September release date, with only a few days to spare. This demo is quite possibly the most anticipated demo in recent memory, with forums constantly abuzz about its ever-shifting release date. Considering the limited number of copies being printed, it might actually end up being a collector’s item (let’s see how much it goes for on eBay).

We’re eagerly awaiting our demo discs, just like you, and we can’t wait to share our impressions of Kratos’ upcoming PSP adventure with you.

We hear a lot about the Wii version of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games– just today we saw a list of events, and we recently learned that, much like David Hasselhoff, the Germans love it. But what of the DS version? Mario and Sonic are indeed at these Olympic Games, as well.

Well, we finally heard something about the DS version! And it’s … bad news, kind of! The game’s been delayed until the first quarter of 2008. But, really, considering all the stuff that’s coming out on DS this holiday season, we can only see that as a good thing. Better for a complete game to come out when it can shine than for a junk minigame collection to fall through the cracks.

We’ve been impatiently awaiting Hudson’s announcement when it would release Bomberman Land stateside, and today, our long wait is over. Bomberman Land, which was released earlier this year in Japan, will hit the PSP in January 2008.

Bomberman Land will feature a traditional single-player story mode, more than 50 mini-games and will support Game Sharing. “Gamers are going to be blown away by the sheer amount of content they get in the Bomberman Land series,” said John Greiner President and CEO of Hudson Entertainment.

In the single-player mode, you will have the unenviable and no doubt maddening task of restoring “peace and tranquility to the beleaguered Bomberman world” by solving quests and puzzles. And to win over the series faithful, the “classic multiplayer” Battle Pack Mode makes a return.

We’re scared for Nessie, our underwater ally, because after Capcom sponsored a hunt for South America’s Bigfoot and giant anacondas to promote Monster Hunter Freedom 2, we just know they’re going after her next as the company announced its plans to release Monster Hunter Portable 2G.

No, it’s not a full sequel, but it will build upon the Japanese hit by featuring new monsters, fields and systems. While the game doesn’t have a release date, we won’t be surprised if this one never makes it our way. But one thing is for certain, all mythical creatures now have nowhere to hide.

Most of the DS Lite skins we’ve come across in the past made our eyes want to commit suicide — you could literally see them darting around, panicked, struggling in vain to grow arms and grab anything in reach to stab themselves blind with.

These Phantom Hourglass decals, however, won’t disfigure your handheld; they could even by considered somewhat appealing. Wal-Mart will include them, as well as a Link-green stylus, with every $34.82 preorder. The only downside we can see in reserving the game through Wal-Mart is that the retail giant won’t ship it out until October 5th, four days after Phantom Hourglass’ release. Do you think these extras are worth holding off your Zelda playtime?

There’s some great news for Kingdom Hearts fans and DS owners — the handheld is indeed getting a KH game, and it’s apparently not a follow-up to the GBA title. Details are sketchy out of TGS at the moment, but the game is going multi-version for multiple platforms (as rumored). It seems the DS exclusive, which is known as Kingdom Hearts 358/2 is the “darkest” of the bunch, according to IGN. Brief trailers for the DS title, as well as those for the PSP and mobile phones, were shown behind closed doors at the show, and no release dates have been mentioned as yet. The only other thing we know at this time is that the events in all games take place near those in Kingdom Hearts 2.
